Library 2.0 & Web 2.0

The library world has changed drastically since I was a kid. "Away from the iceberg" I do think that our library system is working hard to keep up with libraries patrons needs. Although I agree with cutting back on the "just in case collection". The library does have so many resources at our fingertips, but if people do not know how to use the resources what is the point of having them. If we can educate the patrons on how to use the resources we can help to eliminate the barriers between us. If they cannot get information from us they will go somewhere else to find it. Let's have some training courses on how to use NoveList, ect. for patrons.

Training is the key, you are right. I also think the schools should be doing more in the comp area. Do you think the public will come to the classes. We have a few at Brick and are not much succes with turn out.es

I'm not sure if the public would come to the classes or not. We will never know if we don't put them out there though. We have so many great resources and if people do not know about them or how to use them they won't be utilized.
